Saginaw UMC

New Here?

Welcome to Saginaw United Methodist Church! It is our joy to welcome you and to tell you how God is moving in our community of faith. We’re glad you’re interested in finding out more about us.

We’ve been a part of the Saginaw community for 101 years. Our mission is to “make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world . . . one person at a time.” This means that we take an interest in you and in your walk with God. We as a church want to be a channel of God’s grace to work in your life so that you may fully be the person God created you to be and be a blessing to God’s world.

Below are some frequently asked questions about what to expect on Sunday mornings. If you have other questions, please contact one of our pastors, Rev. Jason or Rev. Estee Valendy.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

SUMC is located on the corner of Bluebonnet and Anderson streets. Our Sanctuary faces Bluebonnet and our church office entrance is off Anderson. Guests are welcome to park in our visitor spaces in front of our Sanctuary.

WHAT ARE YOUR WORSHIP SERVICES LIKE?

In worship, we seek to experience the presence of God through our engagement with scripture, music, prayer and sacraments. We offer two worship services on Sunday mornings.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We want you to feel comfortable. Many people come to worship in "business casual" clothes, but many others dress in jeans and t-shirts. It is good to worship God together—we want you to be more focused on the worship service than what you’re wearing. We think you’ll fit in, no matter how you dress.

WHERE DO I TAKE MY KIDS?

Children’s Sunday School is offered from 9:45-10:45 a.m. A nursery is provided for children, infants through age 2, in rooms C-17 and C-18. Children are welcome in our worship services. Wee Worship is offered for children ages 3-5 during the 11:00 worship service following the children’s sermon. Children are escorted to room C-20, just off the playground, where they worship in a specially designed children’s worship experience.

HOW DO I LEARN MORE AND GET CONNECTED?

If you are interested in learning more about SUMC and how you can become connected with others in this community of faith, we invite you to join us for our Connect Class, a four-week class that is held quarterly. Or, please contact one of our pastors.
