What I love about what I do: Offering Christ-centered care to someone experiencing a difficult time in life can make such a difference to them during that time. There is a real need for this ministry. I’ve found it brings me closer to Christ, and I also use the skills I learned in Stephen Ministry training in all aspects of my life.

My dream for Saginaw UMC: The ministries of SUMC have expanded so much in the 45 years I have been a member here. My dream is to see those ministries to our congregation and the community continue to expand and grow.

Brag about my family: My husband, Gary, and I have been married for 21 years although we’ve been friends for 45 years. We currently have three large fur babies — Chubby, Violet, and Norton — and a huge extended family.

Favorite scripture: Psalm 118:24 This is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Growing up, my great-grandfather (a Methodist minister) taught us to say this each morning after saying breakfast grace.

Currently listening to: classic rock, Texas artists like Leon Bridges, Courtney Patton and Cody Jinx (songs like I Need a Shove, Give All You Can, and Cast No Stones are so much more than traditional country!)
